Gachon University Expands Its Global Reach
Korea’s First College Exclusively for International Students Opens at Gachon University
Gachon University has launched Korea’s first-ever college made only for international students, named the International College. This bold step reflects Gachon University’s strong will to become a global leader in higher education at a time when international competitiveness in education is more important than ever. As the first one made in the country, the International College marks a significant milestone in Gachon’s journey toward becoming a truly global campus.
In the past, international students at Gachon University joined the same departments as Korean students and took classes together. However, now the newly established International College, designed only for international students, offers an academic system and student services tailored specifically to their needs. Officially founded in December 2024, the college began classes in the spring semester of 2025.
The International College has eight majors, including Global Liberal Studies, Korean Studies, Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Media and Communication, Psychology, Tourism Management, and Korean Language Education. The college is supported by dedicated teaching staff and provides comprehensive services, including academic advising, scholarship support, visa and stay management, and Korean language education. On March 19, a welcoming ceremony was held at Ye-eum Hall to celebrate the start of the International College, bringing together students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
More than just the establishment of a new college, this move shows Gachon University’s ongoing effort to enhance its global influence. With continued efforts to expand partnerships and exchanges with institutions around the world, Gachon University is aiming to strengthen its international presence.
